Shedeur Sanders vs. Deshaun Watson Updated in New Rumors, Which QB has 'Leg Up' in Browns Battle?'

As the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders rages on, it sounds like Watson is taking the lead.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that the veteran appears to have the advantage over Sanders for the starting quarterback position.

"It certainly seems like Deshaun Watson has the leg up here. He's the one who is more well-versed in the Browns' operations," Rapoport reported.

According to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, despite Browns first-year head coach Todd Monken announcing that Sanders would continue alternating reps with Watson, it was Watson who took every rep with the starting offense in Saturday's practice. Sanders split the remaining reps with third-string quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Rapoport noted that Sanders has had his share of moments in training camp, but Watson's consistency separates him from the second-year signal-caller.

"Shedeur has flashed in camp; he has made some plays that make them go, 'OK, this guy's got some talent.' But just as far as dependability and play-in-play-out, it feels to me like Watson," Rapoport said.

The Browns are set to open the preseason on Saturday against the Chicago Bears, so it will be interesting to see how Monken rotates between Watson and Sanders.
