Colts' Cam Taylor-Britt Suspended By NFL for Violating Personal Conduct Policy

The Indianapolis Colts will be missing cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt for the first game of the 2026 season.

Taylor-Britt has been suspended one game for a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

The Colts signed Taylor-Britt to a one-year deal earlier this offseason.

The team is set to open the 2026 season against the visiting Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 13 before traveling on Sept. 20 for a Week 2 road matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Taylor-Britt will be able to participate in preseason practices and games before serving out his suspension during the first week of the NFL season, per WTHR-TV's Dominic Miranda.

Originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2022 draft, Taylor-Britt served as the Bengals' top cornerback while starting all 17 games of the 2024 season.

He saw his playing time drop the following season following inconsistent performances early in the 2025 campaign.

Taylor-Britt finished the 2025 season having recorded 21 tackles, one quarterback hit and five passes defensed in eight games with two starts before hitting free agency this spring.

The Colts signed him in a move reuniting the 26-year-old with Lou Anarumo, the former Bengals defensive coordinator who arrived in Indianapolis ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Indianapolis was looking to bolster the team's cornerback depth after seeing both Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward Sr. miss time due to injuries last season.

The Athletic's James Boyd previously reported the Colts were stocking up at the position in part because Anarumo "likes to use a lot of DBs in his coverages."

The Colts are now bringing back Gardner and Ward alongside Justin Walley, who missed the 2025 season amid recovery from a torn ACL.

Players competing for the remaining cornerback roster spots including Taylor-Britt alongside Mekhi Blackmon, Johnathan Edwards and Jaylon Jones.

Taylor-Britt will likely continue competing for a roster spot behind Gardner, Ward and Walley before serving out his suspension later this fall.
