North Carolina Remains Undefeated

Johnston County Little League represented host state North Carolina Thursday in a big win over Lake Mary Little League from Florida, stunting their momentum and advancing to 3-0 in this year's tournament.

Lake Mary had outscored opponents 29-0 in their previous two games but their explosive offense was shut down by Johnston County pitcher Anna-Lynn Clark, who threw a complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts, two walks, and five hits.

Errors, passed balls, and three consecutive doubles proved to undo the Southeast representative and ensure that North Carolina advanced to the purple bracket championship.

Lake Mary will be back on the diamond on Friday, with a chance to set up a high-stakes rematch with Johnston County in Saturday's title game.

Daviess County Little League from Owensboro, Kentucky also won Thursday, moving to 3-0 in the tournament and advancing to the finals of the orange bracket title game.
