Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan, Jonathan Taylor, Full List of NFL's Top-Paid RBs After Historic Contracts

It's been a good offseason for NFL running backs.

Detroit Lions star Jahmyr Gibbs inked a three-year, $67.5 million deal, adding another running back to the list of those who got paid this summer. Gibbs is now the league's highest-paid running back, followed by Atlanta's Bijan Robinson and Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor.

Robinson helped reset the market for running backs earlier this week when he inked a three-year deal worth up to $75 million. His contract includes $51 million guaranteed.

The contract is well earned after a tremendous third year from Robinson in which he collected 1,478 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground while adding 820 yards and four scores through the air.

Taylor and the Colts then agreed to a two-year, $44 million extension on Thursday morning. The 27-year-old had another tremendous campaign in 2025, tallying 1,585 yards and leading the NFL with 18 touchdowns.

After Robinson and Taylor's deals, it was only a matter of time before Gibbs got his.

Gibbs is coming off a season where he recorded 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns, and the Lions understandably decided to award him with a historic deal.

With the addition of the new deals this week, eight of the top-10 highest-paid running backs have signed contracts this offseason. That perhaps speaks to a shifting opinion from front offices about running backs.

For several years, the market had cooled off for even the top running backs, largely due to the fact that many had declining production after their rookie deals.

The newly paid running backs can thank players like Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey for the change of heart among front offices. Those three have proved that modern running backs can still be among the league's best well into their late-20s and early-30s.

With the market for running backs resetting this offseason, those who are entering contract years will look to prove they're worth the same kind of money as Gibbs, Taylor and Robinson.
