Browns' Jerry Jeudy Explains Edited Video Appearing to Show His Opinion on Browns QB Battle

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy discussed a recent social-media video that was edited to make it look as if he appears to favor Deshaun Watson over Shedeur Sanders amid the ongoing quarterback competition in training camp.

Speaking to reporters after Wednesday's practice, Jeudy explained he put up four fingers in the original video when someone in the comments asked how hold his daughter was.

In the clip from TikTok posted on July 26, there is a question that pops up asking "who u want ur starting qb to be" immediately followed by an obvious jump-cut then Jeudy throws up four fingers to appear as if he was throwing his support behind Watson.

Jeudy responded to the cut in multiple posts on X, including one message on the ESPN Cleveland video. He followed that up by writing he doesn't "speak on decisions that aren't mine to make" and expressed support for all of his teammates.

Watson and Sanders have been alternating days with the first-team offense since the start of training camp as the Browns coaching staff evaluates both to determine a starter going into the regular season.

This is the first time Watson has been healthy to practice with the team since tearing his Achilles in Week 7 of the 2024 season. He reinjured the same Achilles in January 2025 that kept him out for all of last season.

Watson is also entering the final season of his five-year, $230 million contract signed in March 2022. He has played a total of 19 games since joining the Browns.

Sanders started the final seven games of the 2025 campaign. He threw for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a rookie.

The first significant indication of where things stand in quarterback competition will likely come when Browns head coach Todd Monken announces the starter for the preseason opener on Aug. 15 against the Chicago Bears.
