John Cena Pays Tribute to Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles in Instagram Photo After WWE Retirements

John Cena celebrated Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles on Wednesday in an Instagram post.

Cena posted a photo of himself, Lesnar and Styles touching fists, seemingly signifying the fact that their legendary wrestling careers have all come to an end in recent months:

In December, Cena became the first of the three to retire, as he lost his final match by tapping out to Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Styles was not far behind, as he too lost the last match of his career against Gunther one month later at Royal Rumble.

Lesnar put a bow on his legendary career this past weekend when he lost a Hell in a Cell match against Oba Femi in the main event of Night 1 of SummerSlam in Minneapolis.

After the defeat, which marked the second time he lost to Femi in three matches, Lesnar embraced Oba in the ring and endorsed him on the microphone by calling him the future.

The Beast Incarnate then confirmed what many had already been speculating on Tuesday when he announced on the Pat McAfee Show that he was officially retiring from pro wrestling:

With that, it means three of the all-time greats have decided to hang their boots up for good over the past eight months, opening the door for newer stars such as Femi to step up.

All of Cena, Styles and Lesnar have seemed to indicate that they are supportive of new blood stepping into their spots as well.

Cena announced the John Cena Classic a few months ago to spotlight up-and-coming talent from NXT, Styles is working to scout and train new talent in WWE and Lesnar gave Femi a ringing endorsement at SummerSlam.

The future of WWE and pro wrestling appears to be in good hands, but it is fair to say that nobody will be able to replicate what Cena, Styles and Lesnar brought to the table over the years.
