New Jersey Bounces Back Against Connecticut
The Mid-Atlantic Region representative, Toms River Little League, suffered a devastating start to their tournament, losing 4-1 to Japan on Sunday. Tuesday, though, they bounced back in a big way, scoring 13 runs against their opponents from Bristol.
Juliana Florek-Doslik cleared the bases with a line-drive triple, driving the score to 5-0. Aviana and Leiana Gay pushed the lead to 7-0, and the Toms River squad never looked back.
It was a dominant victory against an outmatched team. That will not be the case on Wednesday, as a rematch with Japan awaits.
Kinki Softball LL out of Sangō, Japan, earned their own win over the representatives from the West Region, California, 1-0.
The question now is whether the New Jersey export learned from its first loss of the tournament and can bounce back against an opponent who knows they can score against them.
