Odell Beckham Jr.'s Increased Role With Giants Revealed in Latest 2026 NFL Training Camp Update

Odell Beckham Jr. is looking to establish himself as a contributor for the New York Giants this season, and it appears he's making strides in training camp.

The veteran wide receiver worked with the starting rotation on Tuesday, though he hasn't been getting many targets on offense. He nearly had a touchdown in the scrimmage, but it was ruled out of bounds.

Beckham signed with the Giants in June after going unsigned throughout the entire 2025 campaign. He last played for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, when he had just 55 receiving yards on nine receptions in nine games.

Upon joining the Giants, Beckham said he needed to "step away from the game" in 2025.

"I had a lot of time off to take a step away from the game was what was best for me," Beckham told reporters. "A time in my life where you love something so much that it kind of became detrimental. It became bad to me. And just being able to take that time off and be with my son, be with family and just reprioritize what was important to me and knowing that I still love this game so much. I felt great just being back out there, being back in the building. Just on this field, looking at this stadium, it's a pretty surreal feeling."

The reunion with the Giants gives Beckham the chance to return to the city where he had the best years of his career. During his first stint with New York, he won Offensive Rookie of the Year and was second-team All-Pro twice.

Since his time with the Giants, Beckham has bounced around quite a bit and hasn't been able to match the success from early in his career. He had a productive season with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, though, serving as a solid second option in the offense.

Now, he'll look to make an impact on a young but talented Giants team that is trying to make a playoff push.
