Angel Reese, A'ja Wilson's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Aces Beat Dream

The Atlanta Dream's winning streak is over thanks to the reigning champions.

A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces came into State Farm Arena on Monday and exited with a commanding 109-87 victory. They are now 21-9 overall and in second place alone in the WNBA standings.

As for Angel Reese and the Dream, they saw their five-game winning streak end and fell to 18-11 on the campaign. Reese played well on the way to a double-double and Rhyne Howard helped in the scoring department, but they were no match for the star power on Las Vegas' side.

Wilson was unstoppable as always on the way to 23 points, Jackie Young stuffed the stat sheet with a triple-double, and NaLyssa Smith and Chelsea Gray each took over for stretches in a balanced performance.

The Dream are playing some of the best basketball in the league and in the middle of the race for a top-two seed, but Monday represented a significant test against one of the teams they are chasing in that race.

Las Vegas is also quite a measuring stick for a club such as Atlanta looking to turn the corner as a legitimate contender seeing how Wilson and Co. captured three of the last four titles, but the Dream were up for the challenge in the early going and finished the first quarter on a 7-0 run to take the lead.

But it was just a matter of time before the Aces played like the Aces.

The visitors overwhelmed Atlanta in the second quarter to the tune of 33-14 with Wilson scoring on the blocks and swatting shots on the other end as Young caught fire from the outside. The Dream had no answer for the inside-outside combination from the star duo, but that wasn't the only concern.

Allisha Gray, who is Atlanta's leading scorer this season, exited the game and went to the locker room after a hard fall on the defensive end. Fortunately, she avoided a serious setback and was back on the court after intermission.

That was about the only good news for the home team.

The onslaught of shooting from Young, passing from Gray and overall dominance from Wilson continued as the Aces extended the lead to as many as 28 in the third quarter. It wasn't just the trio of stars, though, as Smith provided important secondary scoring and took full advantage of the openings created by the attention the others drew.

While the outcome was largely a formality, Reese started the fourth quarter on fire and cut into the deficit. Yet every time the Dream seemed to have brief momentum, another one of Las Vegas' stars had an answer.

It was a reminder of just how unstoppable the champions can be when playing at their best with so many weapons, and they will look to keep that momentum rolling Thursday when they remain on the road to face the Indiana Fever.
