Raiders 'Don't Have Any Turds,' HC Klint Kubiak Says While Praising 'Professional' Roster

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak gave unique praise to his team regarding their professionalism on Monday.

"I think we just have a professional group of players. They care about getting better," Kubiak said in his press conference, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "We don't have any turds — we've got guys that want to be here, that want to win, that want to change this place. So, I'm really happy with that."

The Raiders are coming off a disappointing 3-14 finish in 2025, firing head coach Pete Carroll and replacing him with Kubiak.

Las Vegas is looking to take a step forward under Kubiak, who previously served as the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator during the team's run to a Super Bowl LX title.

The Raiders selected quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, but he opened training camp behind veteran passer Kirk Cousins on their depth chart.

Mendoza confirmed that he was fine with staying patient and learning behind Cousins, though.

"Whatever decisions are made at the end, that's fantastic -- and I'm well for it," Mendoza said, per ESPN's Ryan McFadden. "I just want the team to win, so that's where I'm at."

Las Vegas will open its 2026 campaign against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 13.
