Red Sox Plane Breaks Down Again, Jarren Duran Reveals in New Photo After Win vs. Dodgers

The Boston Red Sox have encountered their third plane-related issue since June 24, per outfielder Jarren Duran, who posted about the issue via an Instagram story.

This latest concern happened after the Red Sox, who are 28-5 in their last 33 games, swept the reigning two-time World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers on the road capped by an 8-4 victory on Sunday evening.

Thankfully, the Red Sox were able to take off, albeit five hours and two minutes after their original departure time.

Coincidentally, Boston's recent hot streak occurred after its first plane issue this season. On Wednesday, June 24, the Red Sox were 32-46 and sitting last in the American League East after dropping two of three games to the Colorado Rockies.

They took off for Boston to play the New York Yankees for a four-game set but returned back to Denver 34 minutes after taking off due to issues with the plane's hydraulics and landing gear, per Chris Cotillo of Mass Live. The Red Sox eventually got back in the air on a new plane roughly five-and-a-half hours after the first takeoff.

Boston wasn't affected by the issue on the field, as the Red Sox proceeded to sweep New York in four games.

On Thursday, July 9, Boston finished a sweep of the Chicago White Sox to win six in a row. They were supposed to take off that evening for New York to play the Mets but were grounded for almost a full day due to multiple mechanical issues, per the Associated Press. Boston eventually took off on Friday afternoon and got to Citi Field at 5:05 p.m. The game was even delayed 36 minutes to accommodate the team's arrival.

Once again, that didn't matter as the Red Sox swept the Mets to take a nine-game winning streak into the All-Star Break.

Now the Red Sox had a third plane issue in six weeks. Thankfully, the Red Sox don't have a game imminently, as their next matchup is Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. ET at home vs. the Chicago White Sox.
