PGA Championship 2015 Leaderboard: Friday Scores, Results and Analysis

Bleacher Report Golf StaffAug 13, 2015

A pair of Aussies sit atop the leaderboard after a weather-shortened second round at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin.

Jason Day and Matt Jones both sat at nine-under when lightning, heavy rain and winds forced the suspension of play after a pretty wild round that saw player's fortunes rise and sink and history nearly be made.

Day began the day at four under par and stuck in the glut of players near the top of the leaderboard before birdies on 11, 12 and 13 broke him free and put him alone on top. He was in good position on the 15th hole when the horn sounded and players were forced off the course.

Jones turned in a bogey-free round of five-under and will have five more holes to complete Saturday morning.

The biggest story of the day, however, might well have been Hiroshi Iwata, who shot nine under par for the round and became the 25th player in major championship history to turn in a card of 63. He's four-under for the championship and five strokes back of the lead.

Justin Rose is in third at eight-under with three players tied at seven under par.

Other notables include Masters and U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth at six-under and Dustin Johnson, who led coming into the day before a round with three birdies and four bogeys, at five-under.

Tiger Woods currently sits at four-over with five holes to play.

The projected cut line currently sits at two-over, leaving the 14-time major champion some work to do if he hopes to continue playing into the weekend..

Play will resume Saturday morning at 7 a.m. local time.
