Jeremiyah Love Listed as RB2 in Cardinals' 1st Depth Chart Ahead of Hall of Fame Game vs. Panthers

The Arizona Cardinals released their first depth chart on Sunday ahead of Thursday's Hall of Fame game, and there was a bit of a surprise at running back.

Rookie Jeremiyah Love, the No. 3 pick at this year's NFL draft, was listed as the No. 2 running back behind Tyler Allgeier:

Now, if you believe the Cardinals used a No. 3 pick on a running back only to utilize him in a backup role, we have bridge on sale you might be interested in purchasing. Love is going to see a significant workload this season.

That doesn't mean he won't be in a platoon, however, given how NFL teams have handled the position in recent years.

"I do know this: Not one running back can take all 65 snaps," head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters last week. "We've seen that story when guys are a little bit overloaded and whether it hurts them in one year, I think over time, one year, two years or whatever it is. Being able to split those guys up to, one, keep them fresh throughout that game, but two, to keep them as healthy as they can for 17 games is the appropriate way to go."

It's also important to note that preseason depth charts don't necessarily mean much. A lot can change in a month. And even if Love and Allgeier end up sharing the workload, Love is the sort of talent that teams build schemes around.

He's going to get plenty of impactful touches, in other words. Don't fret just yet, fantasy football players of the world.
