The race for the top prize in youth softball has begun.
The Little League Softball World Series kicked off Sunday with a battle between the Southeast and Northwest.
Here's a look at results and highlights from today's Little League action in Greenville, North Carolina.

Southeast 14, Northwest 0
Lake Mary, Florida started out their LLSWS representation of the Southeast with a shutout victory.
The Floridian team racked up 10 runs in the first two innings of a dominant win over the Northwest's team from Snohomish, Washington.
Brynn Fieser and Callie Ousley each batted in three runs for the Southeast.
Pitcher Chloe Cheek took home the win after striking out three batters and allowing two hits, a walk and no runs in four innings.
Asia-Pacific 4, Mid-Atlantic 1
Asia-Pacific's team from Sangō, Japan overcame a mid-game weather delay to claim victory over the Mid-Atlantic team from Toms River, New Jersey.
Asia-Pacific opened scoring with a three-run first-inning.
Mid-Atlantic got on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI double from Briella Bognar but was unable to erase the early deficit.
Asia-Pacific pitcher Sara Matsuda earned the win after allowing one run and one walk while striking out four batters.
Central 11, West 1
The Central team wasted little time making a statement on the way to an 11-1 victory over the West.
Central scored seven runs in the first inning and then tacked on three runs in the fourth to end the contest.
The offense was the story, as Hunter Sparks, Presley Roberts, Finley Beaven and Avary Emmick each notched multiple hits. Roberts and Emmick also had two RBI each in the convincing win.
On the pitching side, Michaela Knight struck out six and allowed just a single run in four innings of work.
