Brie Bella Hospitalized with Shoulder Injury, Triple H Announces After WWE SummerSlam

Triple H announced after Night 1 of SummerSlam on Saturday during the Post-Show that Brie Bella has been hospitalized with a shoulder injury.

"No, she's injured," Triple H said, per Steve Carrier of Ringside News.

"I don't have an update yet. She had some treatment here and has been taken to the hospital to get scans on it."

"I know her shoulder seems bad. I don't have that answer, though, but we will know soon."

Bella, twin sister Nikki Bella and Paige lost to Fatal Influence in a six-person tag team match.

During and after the match, Brie Bella was seen holding her right shoulder. That became more evident post-match when the Bella twins turned on Paige before walking back up the ramp.

It is unclear how and when the injury occurred during the match, but PW Chronicle presented one particular moment as a possibility.

This is also a tough blow considering that Nikki Bella just returned from a serious ankle injury that had forced her away from the ring since March 27, when she and Brie Bella defeated Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair on SmackDown.

Paige replaced Nikki Bella in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match at WrestleMania and ultimately won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Brie Bella. The two held the belts until WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on July 18, when they dropped them to Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence.

That set up the six-person tag match with Nikki Bella returning/reuniting with Brie Bella and Jayne adding into the mix for Fatal Influence.

During and after the post-match attack on Paige, Nikki Bella was heard saying that no one could replace her, so obviously, a new feud was simmering at this point based off some perceived jealousy.

Obviously, the post-match twist would, in theory, set up a new storyline featuring the Bella twins vs. Paige. However, it's unclear what will transpire now if Brie Bella is forced to miss time.

Triple H noted that WWE is prepared to change plans if needed.

"That's the nature of the game, and we will pivot accordingly," he said, per Carrier.

It's certainly possible Nikki Bella and Paige have a one-on-one feud now as Brie Bella recovers.

Ultimately, the hope is that Brie Bella is back in the mix ASAP after a tough injury in Minneapolis.

Outside of that injury, Triple H said it appeared no other wrestler suffered a serious ailment injury on the six-match card, per Carrier.
