Xavier Worthy, Cyrus Allen Injury Updates After Chiefs WRs Both Carted Off During Practice
The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly received positive injury updates on both Xavier Worthy and Cyrus Allen after both wide receivers were carted out of practice.
The Chiefs initially said Allen had a lower leg injury and Worthy had a shoulder-related issue, per Chiefs Digest's Matt Derrick.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Allen suffered a bruised shin but that "nothing was torn or broken."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added Worthy is "believed to be okay."
ESPN's Nate Taylor reported Worthy "fell to the turf near the end zone" while making a contested catch prior to exiting Saturday's practice.
The Star's Pete Sweeney reported Worthy "hit the turf shoulder-first, with cornerback Kader Kohou rolling on top of him."
He left practice on a cart but "didn't seem distressed as he exited," per Derrick.
Worthy suffered a dislocated right shoulder last September after colliding with Travis Kelce during the Chiefs' 2025 regular-season opener.
The wide receiver missed four games before returning to play through the injury for the remainder of the campaign.
He underwent surgery on the injury in January and participated in spring OTAs in a non-contact capacity before he was cleared for contact ahead of training camp.
Worthy told reporters Friday he has been working at "building that shoulder back" throughout the offseason.
"I was never going to be 100 percent until I got the surgery... last year was kind of hard to look at, 'cause my routes kind of got changed, and I couldn't run a lot of things that I would normally run," Worthy said Friday.
The Chiefs will hope Saturday's injury does not delay Worthy's progress in recovering from that injury.
Allen is preparing to make his NFL debut after the Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL draft.
His injury occurred after colliding with cornerback Kaiir Elam on a special teams drill, per The Athletic's Jesse Newell.
Jalen Royals could be tasked with taking on a larger workload to help out Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton should Worthy and Allen miss any time with their respective injuries.
