Jimmy Haslam Says He'll 'Take the Over' on Browns to Win 5.5 Games During 2026 NFL Season

The over/under for the Cleveland Browns' win total, per FanDuel Sportsbook, sits at 5.5.

On Friday, at Browns' training camp, owner Jimmy Haslam expressed confidence that his team will the over on that amount.

Haslam also said the team has designs on being a playoff contender in 2027.

The Browns just had a 5-12 season and parted ways with head coach Kevin Stefanski. Former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is now in charge.

On the plus side, the Browns just added 10 new players via the NFL draft, including four first- and second-rounders in offensive tackle Spencer Fano, wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston and safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren.

Cleveland also returns a lot of talent from a very good defense that finished fifth in yards allowed per play last year, including safety Grant Delpit and cornerback Denzel Ward, both of whom signed contract extensions.

In addition, the Browns' also have the easiest strength of schedule (based off opponents' 2025 win-loss records) at .429.

However, that defense has lost reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, who set the single-season sack record with 23 last year. The Browns traded him to the Los Angeles Rams for another talented defensive end (Jared Verse) plus draft picks, but Garrett should be a big loss.

Cleveland also finished second-last in scoring last year. The additions of Concepcion, Boston and Fano should help, but it could be a long climb for Cleveland to get back in the top half of the league offensively.

The Browns struggled passing and rushing last year, finishing third-last in net yards per pass attempt and fifth-last in yards per carry, per Pro Football Reference.

While it seems more unlikely than not that the Browns miss the playoffs, it's not out of the question, and an improvement from last year's 5-12 mark is a definite possibility. Haslam, for his part, is confidence in that result.
