
New Yankees Rumors on Hunter Goodman Trade Talks With Rockies Ahead of 2026 MLB Deadline
The New York Yankees are reportedly among the teams interested in Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Yankees are talking to the Rockies regarding Goodman and have also checked on Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman as well as Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson.
Per Heyman, it is "still seen as less than 50-50" that Goodman is moved prior to the deadline.

Ken Rosenthalย of The Athletic previously reported that the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox also expressed interest in Goodman, although the Rockies were asking for multi-player packages that included the No. 1 overall prospects of each team.
Goodman is in the midst of an impressive 2026 campaign, earning his second consecutive All-Star nod.
The 26-year-old has racked up 31 home runs this year,ย rankingย No. 3 among all MLB players.
He's also recorded 16 doubles, 37 walks and 60 RBI while posting a .254/.326/.545 slash line.
Goodman is under team control through 2029, as he'sย earningย $810,000 in 2026 and will become arbitration-eligible at the end of the season.
The Yankees sit at No. 2 in the American League East standings with a 61-48 record, but key contributors includingย Aaron Judgeย andย Cody Bellingerย are currently on the injured list.
New York's catchers have also struggled to produce at the plate this year, ranking No. 29 in the majors with a combined OPS of .541 (viaย FanGraphs).
The 2026 trade deadline is on Monday at 6 p.m. ET.
