What's New in Madden NFL 27 Revealed in Latest Trailer on Gameplay, Weather, Franchise Mode and More
Two weeks away from the launch of Madden NFL 27, EA Sports has dropped a new trailer breaking down a series of new gameplay features in this year's release.
The five big new features include enhanced wide receiver vs. cornerback matchups allowing for more physical battles; dynamic weather that impacts field conditions and player effectiveness based on the conditions; enhanced franchise mode including free-agent frenzy and persona DNA profiles specific to each individual player.
This year's release also marks the first time real NFL coordinators will be featured in the game.
Per the EA Sports' Madden NFL 27 launch guide, a player's free-agent page will include a list of interested teams so the controlling gamer will know who they are bidding against and how much to offer.
EA has enhanced the evolution system in order to "provide a more consistent upgrade experience, including improvements to notifications, progression, and item management."
The actual presentation of football games is being upgraded for a "more polished" broadcast with halftime reports and weekly previews better reflecting the actual content of what has happened on the field.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is the cover athlete on Madden NFL 27. It marks the first time a Bears player has graced the game's cover in the 37-year history of the main Madden franchise dating back to 1988.
The game will release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on Aug. 13. Gamers who pre-order the deluxe edition will have access starting on Aug. 10.
