Jake Paul Eyes 2027 MMA Fight, Discusses Boxing Plans Amid 'Multiple' Negotiations

Jake Paul said he will be "boxing very soon," per comments made to ESPN's Kevin Neghandi in a recent interview (2:32 mark).

"I'm going to be boxing very soon. Just getting back into the ring and into training. "We're having multiple fight negotiations going on with different opponents and figuring out what the perfect next step is and then hopefully we'll get into MMA in 2027.

"I've been saying I want to do MMA. It just never has made sense, and now it fully makes sense with these two companies combined. So, very exciting next 12 months for me. I'll be busy in both boxing and MMA fights."

Paul's Most Valuable Promotions just merged with Professional Fighters League to create a new combined company featuring both boxing and MMA. In a statement announcing the news, Paul mentioned in part, that he was looking to return to boxing and make his MMA debut as well.

"I look forward to putting my entire promotional muscle into our new company, returning to the boxing ring and making my MVP MMA debut," Paul noted.

The 29-year-old has a 12-2 professional boxing record with seven knockouts. He last fought in Dec. 2025 against two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, falling via sixth-round knockout. Paul does have some wins against heralded MMA talents, including Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley (twice0.

It's unclear who Paul might face in his next boxing match (or for his first MMA fight), but it's clear he'll be back sooner rather than later.
