Drew Brees Asks Sean Payton To Present Him at Pro Football Hall of Fame Ceremony in Emotional Video

NFL legend Drew Brees asked Sean Payton, his former head coach, to serve as his presenter for his upcoming Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Payton's emotional reaction to Brees' question was shown by the New Orleans Saints in a Thursday post on X.

"I can't believe you just did that," Payton said. "Yeah. Absolutely, man."

Brees and Payton spent 15 seasons together in New Orleans from 2006 through 2020, helping the Saints make nine playoff appearances and win a Super Bowl title across that span.

Brees thrived throughout their shared tenure, ending his career with the second-most passing yards, passing touchdowns and completions in NFL history.

He earned 13 total Pro Bowl nods, two Offensive Player of the Year awards and a Comeback Player of the Year honor.

While Brees retired in March 2021, Payton is now entering his fourth season as head coach of the Denver Broncos.

The 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Aug. 8.
