Baron Corbin Beats Trick Williams with Lil Yachty to Win WWE US Title Match at SummerSlam

Baron Corbin beat Trick Williams on Night 2 of WWE SummerSlam 2026 on Sunday to win the United States Championship.

However, the win came after an unhelpful appearance by Trick's friend, Lil Yachty:

Corbin took advantage of the distraction to hit Williams with the title belt. He then delivered End of Days to seal the victory.

After nearly two years away, Corbin made his return to WWE on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, and he immediately had Trick and the U.S. title in his crosshairs.

During a match between Williams and Carmelo Hayes, Corbin surprisingly showed up and blew up the bout by attacking both Superstars.

In the weeks that followed, Corbin took shots at Williams in pre-taped vignettes and discussed his intention to take the United States Championship from him.

On the July 24 edition of SmackDown, Williams competed in the Fatal 4-Way main event to determine who would face Sami Zayn in an Undisputed WWE Championship No. 1 contender's match at SummerSlam.

Finn Balor won the bout, and after SmackDown went off the air, Corbin launched another sneak attack against Trick.

A U.S. title match between Williams and Corbin was made official for SummerSlam shortly thereafter, giving Corbin a huge opportunity in his first televised match since returning to WWE.

Corbin represented a huge challenge for Trick given everything that he accomplished during his first WWE run.

He held the U.S. title once before in addition to being a one-time NXT tag team champion and a winner of both the men's Money in the Bank ladder match and King of the Ring tournament.

Corbin used his experience to his advantage on Sunday, as he defeated Williams to end his 100-plus-day reign, while also becoming a two-time United States champ in his own right.
