Nikki, Brie Bella Turn Heel on Paige After Loss to Fatal Influence at WWE SummerSlam

Fatal Influence's Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid beat The Bella Twins and Paige in a six-woman tag team match on Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam 2026 on Saturday, but the big story here occurred after the match, as the Bellas attacked Paige in the ring.

Jayne won the match for Fatal Influence after hitting Paige with a Rolling Encore.

After the loss, Paige hugged both of the Bellas and raised their arms in the middle of the ring while acknowledging the crowd.

However, Nikki Bella then clotheslined an unsuspecting Paige.

Brie Bella got a quick kick in before her sister did the rest of the damage, punching Paige and attacking her surgically-repaired neck. She then hit Paige with the Rack Attack 2.0.

During the attack, Nikki Bella was heard screaming, "This is my house!" and "The real Bellas are back." As the Bellas walked up the ramp, Bella also said to the camera, "Lesson learned. Don't ever take my spot. You got that?"

As far as the lead-in to the match went Fatal Influence targeted several veteran wrestlers on SmackDown after getting called up to the main roster in April, and the team of Brie Bella and Paige was among them.

At WrestleMania 42, Brie and Paige won a Fatal 4-Way tag team match to become the new WWE women's tag team champions. Brie was originally supposed to team with her twin sister, Nikki Bella, but when an injury left her unable to compete, Paige made her surprise return to WWE as Nikki's replacement.

Over the next couple of months, Brie and Paige had several successful title defenses, and they even beat Henley and Reid in a non-title affair.

However, Henley and Reid were given a title opportunity after Reid beat Brie in a singles match, and they made the most of it.

At Saturday Night's Main Event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 18, Henley and Reid defeated Brie and Paige to become WWE women's tag team champions for the first time.

The rivalry continued after SNME, leading to another singles match between Brie and Reid on the July 24 episode of SmackDown, which Brie won.

However, all three Fatal Influence members attacked Brie and Paige afterward, prompting Nikki to make her return from injury. Nikki evened the odds and managed to fight off Fatal Influence alongside Brie and Paige.

Following that angle, a six-woman tag team match was made official for SummerSlam, and it marked Nikki's first match in more than four months.
