Jalen Hurts Says Eagles Have '100% Alignment, Zero Entitlement' After A.J. Brown Trade

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts appears to be pleased with the state of the offense following the departure of star receiver A.J. Brown.

Per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, before fielding a question at his news conference at training camp on Wednesday, Hurts opened with a statement about his organized workouts with skill position players over the offseason and declared that the Eagles have grown closer.

"100 percent alignment, zero entitlement," Hurts later said.

"One of my main points coming in, especially talking to my teammates and getting a sense of where we are throughout the summer and where we're going, is just the importance of discipline and unity," he added (38:30 mark of Wednesday's press conference).

"I can't emphasize enough how important it is to carry and protect the intimacy of this team and what we do, because it takes all of us."

Some may view that statement as Hurts throwing shade toward Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots last month following a four-year run in Philadelphia that included two Super Bowl appearances and one championship. Despite the team's overall success, Brown would grow disgruntled whenever he wasn't heavily featured in the offense as the No. 1 receiver, and he was never shy about expressing his frustrations.

The Eagles are hoping to keep things a little quieter in 2026, as the soft-spoken DeVonta Smith will now take over as the No. 1 option in the passing attack. Philadelphia also traded up to select wide receiver Makai Lemon with the No. 20 pick in this year's draft and acquired Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Hurts' comments made it clear that he's ready to move forward with his new crop of pass-catchers as he tries to lead the Eagles back to Super Bowl contention during the upcoming season.
