Updated 2026 WWE SummerSlam Card and Predictions for Match Order

Arguably the second-biggest event on the WWE premium live event calendar will converge on Minneapolis this weekend when SummerSlam takes place at the Minnesota Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium over the course of two nights.

This year marks the second time WWE has delivered a two-night SummerSlam, and the show promises to be stacked with plenty of high-stakes matches.

Chief among them are the likely main events of Nights 1 and 2 with CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns putting the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Seth Rollins.

CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes

In what figures to be the main event of Night 1, two close friends will do battle with the WWE Championship hanging in the balance.

It wasn't long ago that Rhodes dropped the title to Sami Zayn, but his time as WWE champion was short-lived, as Punk returned from a hiatus and beat Zayn for the WWE Championship in his first match back.

An eventual Punk vs. Rhodes showdown was foreshadowed on Raw the night after WrestleMania 42, and with Punk winning the WWE title, the creative team moved quickly to make Punk vs. Cody official for SummerSlam.

Despite their mutual respect, some tension has been building between Punk and Rhodes in recent weeks, ensuring that Saturday's bout should be much more than just a friendly exhibition.

Punk and Rhodes are undoubtedly two of the biggest stars in WWE, and they should have plenty to offer in what will be their first one-on-one match against each other since 2008.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

Two former friends and longtime rivals are set to close out SummerSlam in a big way when Reigns and Rollins lock horns and vie for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Reigns and Rollins broke into WWE as members of The Shield, but ever since Rollins broke the group up, the relationship between them has been a strained and complicated one.

Rollins has been firmly at odds with Reigns since the formation of The Bloodline, and in many ways, The Visionary has been Reigns' Kryptonite.

Reigns has fallen short time and time again in big matches against Rollins with the most glaring example being WrestleMania 31 when Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar and pinned Reigns to become WWE champion.

Rollins has made it clear in promos leading up to SummerSlam that he doesn't believe Reigns has what it takes to beat him, but if The Tribal Chief manages to finally get the better of Seth, it will mark the clearing of one of the biggest hurdles left in Reigns' career.

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar

After splitting their first two meetings, Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar will settle the score once and for all at SummerSlam when they clash inside Hell in a Cell.

Femi and Lesnar have been at odds since before WrestleMania, and they have both dished out their fair share of punishment to one another.

Although Oba won the King of the Ring tournament and could have had a world title match at SummerSlam, he opted instead to face Lesnar in order to get him out of the way once and for all.

Each of the first two matches between Femi and Lesnar were relatively short, but given the Hell in a Cell stipulation, all signs point toward this one being longer and more evenly matched than the previous bouts.

Ultimately, The Ruler figures to prevail and generate a ton of momentum for the second half of 2026, and his match against Lesnar at SummerSlam undoubtedly has show-stealing potential.
