DK Metcalf Explains 'Biggest Difference' With Mike McCarthy As Steelers HC After Mike Tomlin's Exit

For the first time in nearly two decades, the Pittsburgh Steelers are entering training camp without Mike Tomlin leading the way.

It sounds like new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy is bringing a new philosophy to the team, as star wide receiver DK Metcalf explained that Pittsburgh's offense is getting most of the attention in practice.

"The biggest difference for me is having an offensive coach. That's the first time I've had that in my career," Metcalf told reporters on Tuesday. "When the defense messes up, it's just on to the next play. When the offense messes up, we get to go again. I never had that in my career."

Tomlin had coached the Steelers for 19 seasons before stepping down at the end of last year. He was known for his defense-first approach, as Pittsburgh developed a reputation for toughness and physicality under his leadership.

As McCarthy tries to make his mark in his first year with his hometown team, the Steelers will have to embrace a new approach that gives the offense the spotlight. With star quarterback Aaron Rodgers back for his final year in the NFL, Pittsburgh will look to light up the scoreboard while the team chases a spot in the Super Bowl.
