Roman Reigns-Seth Rollins Regrets, 2 Stars Rising, Danhausen Fatigue, More WWE Raw Fallout

The go-home Raw before SummerSlam aired from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California and included the final hype for WWE's big summer premium live event.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins exchanged final words that ended with The Visionary standing tall. Danhausen and Joe Hendry combined to mock The Judgment Day.

Raquel Rodriguez dethroned Sol Ruca to capture the Women's Intercontinental Championship. Solo Sikoa, LA Knight and Royce Keys continued to cause problems for The Usos and Jacob Fatu.

Roman Reigns Will Defeat Seth Rollins, Even Though He Shouldn't

Roman Reigns is the biggest star in WWE, and to solidify that, he will defeat the one man that has had his number more than anyone else: Seth Rollins.

However, that is not an interesting story to tell right now for either man. The OTC defeating The Visionary sends Rollins to the back of the line.

Meanwhile, Reigns is left with no easy stories or angles in the immediate future that look like a real threat to his title reign.

As fun a trio as they have been together, no one between Solo Sikoa, LA Knight or Royce Keys has any chance against The OTC.

This is supposed to be the story of Reigns and Rollins' career, but right now, the build to SummerSlam sells that as a mere formality to erase a rare weakness in The OTC.

That is just a waste of time and potential. Rollins beating Reigns would be a bold declaration that The OTC still has a weakness and needs to find a way to finally beat The Visionary.

However, that is not likely to be the most financially successful option for WWE right now.

The Solo Sikoa Experiment Might Finally Be Paying Off

After several years of telling fans time and again that Solo Sikoa is the future, the prognosis on his career is looking up in a big way.

All it took was WWE cooling on his push and allowing him to show more of his personality.

Recent weeks have highlighted a carefree entertaining side of Sikoa that plays well off the natural charisma of his recent tag team partner, LA Knight.

While The Megastar has always entertained on the mic, Sikoa has been stealing the show with his humor.

This is the side of Sikoa fans will latch onto far more than the grim enforcer. If he continues to deliver in these spots, he might just be a top star in WWE by 2027.

WWE Heading Toward Overexposure With Danhausen

Danhausen arrived to a mixed reaction in WWE but quickly won over fans with his quick wit.

His well-defined gimmick and natural comic timing stood out in a company that has avoided showy, wacky characters for years.

After "uncursing" the New York Knicks before they went on to win the NBA Finals, he became more of a talking point, even breaking into mainstream conversation.

With that attention, Danhausen has gone from a fun side character on SmackDown to an omnipresent force on all WWE programs.

Because he is constantly on TV, his appearances are much more hit-and-miss, leading to a new low on Raw in his embarrassing segment with Joe Hendry on Monday night.

As Danhausen causes problems for more major stories and delivers more bad comedy, WWE will lose the magic that made him a memorable star in the first place.

The only answer at this point is to pull back on his appearances, but WWE has shown no interest in doing that.

Raquel Rodriguez Title Win is Long Overdue

Raquel Rodriguez first signed with WWE in 2016, using her real surname Gonzalez.

After a patient development process, she made her first important appearance on WWE television in 2020 at NXT TakeOver: Portland.

By 2021, Gonzalez had captured the NXT Women's Championship and was the next top name coming out of NXT's loaded women's division.

In 2022, she made her SmackDown debut with all the hype and potential, yet it would take a while for her to clearly land on the main roster.

It is a wonder that it took until 2026 for her to finally win singles gold on the main roster, but the time has come.

Winning the Women's Intercontinental Championship is a well-deserved exclamation mark on the best year of her career.

The 35-year-old took strong steps to fully establish herself as one of WWE's top monster heels and delivered great matches against a variety of opponents.

It is hard to imagine Rodriguez is the long-term plan as IC champ, so she may lose the gold soon, especially back to one of WWE's top projects in Sol Ruca.

Still, this accomplishment cannot be taken away from Rodriguez, who will remain one of the more underrated stars in the women's division.

SummerSlam is WWE's Most Important Show of the Triple H Era

The shine on the Triple H Era is off of WWE, and questions are mounting for whether the company is on the right track.

Recent Raws have underwhelmed, and SmackDown has not fared much better.

However, WWE has built an exciting card for SummerSlam that should be an easy win for the company.

Give the talent time to perform. Deliver some well-deserved title changes. Keep the focus on the younger stars who will be the headliners of WWE for the next 10-plus SummerSlams over the aging veterans.

Most importantly, no matter what the creative direction, do not fall into the two-night trap of putting all the focus on just one night.

Even if the second night is the better show, WWE fans will remember a bad night, and there is no reason either card should not be top notch.

If SummerSlam goes wrong, though, there will be real reason to doubt if the creative team will remain as is into WrestleMania season next year and beyond.
