New MLB Rumors on Hunter Goodman's Trade Odds amid Yankees, Red Sox and Rays Deadline Buzz

Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman may not experience a change of scenery ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.

According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, multiple MLB executives estimated Goodman's chances of getting traded at roughly 30 percent. The percentage could increase as the deadline draws closer, though.

Per Rosenthal and Sammon, teams have continued to call the Rockies about a trade for Goodman despite overall interest in him being "muted" due to concerns surrounding his defense.

Still, several clubs are searching for a catcher on the trade market. This includes the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays (via Rosenthal and Sammon).

Goodman has continued to showcase his power at the plate this season, amassing 16 doubles and 31 home runs to go along with 60 RBI across 408 plate appearances.

He's hitting .260 with a career-high .888 OPS, as he was recently named an All-Star for the first time in his career.

Goodman is earning $810,000 for his 2026 campaign and will become arbitration-eligible this upcoming offseason. He's also under team control through 2029.

With the Rockies sitting at 42-65, they could decide to move the 26-year-old for assets prior to the Aug. 3 deadline.
