New NFL Rumors Reveal Former Cowboys RB Miles Sanders Worked Out for Raiders amid Training Camp

After his 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys was cut short by a knee injury, veteran running back Miles Sanders is seeking a new opportunity out west.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Sanders is fully cleared from his knee injury, and he worked out for the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday before training camp starts this week.

Sanders produced 117 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and eight catches for 30 yards before being forced to undergo season-ending knee surgery. ESPN's Todd Archer reported that he had "chondral tissue graft surgery in which pieces of bone and cartilage are transplanted into the affected area to improve the joint function." It was the same procedure that former Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs underwent in January 2025.

A seven-year veteran, Sanders began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and also spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He has 4,462 career rushing yards and 24 touchdowns across 88 games.

The Raiders could use a veteran presence behind second-year running back Ashton Jeanty, who ran for 975 yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries as a rookie. He also had 55 catches for 356 yards and five more scores, while no other skill position player on the team had more than 750 scrimmage yards. Former quarterback Geno Smith, who is now with the New York Jets, was the team's second-leading rusher with 109 yards.

If Sanders impressed the brass in Las Vegas, he could have the opportunity to take a backup role on a rebuilding team that is hoping to make some noise this season.
