WWE SummerSlam Card Lineup Revealed for Saturday and Sunday Schedule
WWE confirmed its two-night lineup for SummerSlam, which gets underway Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
CM Punk's defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes will anchor Night 1. Saturday will also feature the highly anticipated Hell in a Cell battle between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi.
The next installment in the long rivalry between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins is the headliner for Sunday night. An interim women's champion will be crowned in a five-person ladder match as well.
Rhea Ripley's torn meniscus reportedly threw the women's division a curveball when it came to SummerSlam.
Early plans called for a singles match between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill, while Blake Monroe was to challenge Tiffany Stratton for the U.S. women's title. Instead, the trio of Flair, Cargill and Stratton were placed into the ladder match, and Monroe was left off entirely.
Bleacher Report's Erik Beaston made his SummerSlam picks Monday. He foresees Punk and Reigns both leaving with their gold, and a loss for Rhodes could be what sends him into the heel turn fans have discussed for a long time.
If that happens, it would likely overshadow a lot of what unfolds on Night 2.
