Brandon Aiyuk Calls Himself 'Final Piece' for Jayden Daniels, Commanders to Win Super Bowl

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk made another pitch to the Washington Commanders as he lays the foundation for his inevitable exit from the Niners.

Aiyuk told The Athletic's Matt Barrows and Nicki Jhabvala that Commanders general manager Adam Peters and coach Dan Quinn "quietly put together a SQAUD!"

"I'm the final peice that will swing all the odds in our favor 🏆 #GOCOMMANDERS #RAISEHAIL," he said.

This isn't the first time the 28-year-old has imagined himself in Washington despite still being under contract with the 49ers.

He has also claimed he purchased an estate in Loudoun County, Virginia, which is where the Commanders have their headquarters.

Back in June, however, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler posited that Aiyuk was "lighting money on fire" through his noteworthy social media usage.

Barrows and Jhabvala painted a similar picture in Monday's report.

"But the more Aiyuk has posted on social media, the more he has seemed to jeopardize his hopes of returning to an active NFL roster — including Washington's," they wrote.

In the case of the Commanders, Aiyuk took a shot at franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels, which didn't appear to go unnoticed by his former college teammate:

Washington selected Clemson's Antonio Williams in the third round of the draft but would benefit by signing a proven veteran as the No. 2 option behind Terry McLaurin. If the team could be assured of getting the 2023 or 2024 version of Aiyuk, then he would make a huge difference on the passing game.

Aiyuk hasn't appeared in a game since tearing his ACL and MCL, though, and the way in which his relationship with the 49ers has deteriorated will raise some concerns for his next team.

From a Commanders perspective, it may have gotten harder to buy into the idea he's an upgrade worth pursuing.
