Jerry Jeudy Addresses Viral Video Fans Feel Is About Shedeur Sanders-Deshaun Watson Browns QB Battle
While Cleveland Browns quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders are set to battle for the starting job during training camp, fans are looking to veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to choose who he wants to win the competition.
During a live stream on social media, Jeudy flashed four fingers to the camera and fans feel he was responding to a question about the Browns' quarterback competition by referencing Watson's No. 4 jersey.
However, Jeudy says it was edited to make it look like that was an answer to a question about Watson and Sanders:
Watson hasn't played since 2024 due to a pair of Achilles surgeries, but he's back to full strength. The nine-year veteran has the clear experience edge over Sanders, who is coming off a solid rookie season that saw him earn a Pro Bowl selection as an alternate.
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi explained that first-year Browns head coach Todd Monken "wanted to enter camp with a clear starter, but he was impressed with both Watson and Sanders during the offseason workout program, so the competition continues."
However, it seems that Watson is already winning over members of the offense, so Jeudy's declaration could be an indication that he's the frontrunner for the starting job ahead of Sanders.
