New MLB Rumors on Athletics Star Shea Langeliers' Injury as Surgery Decision Looms After Trade Buzz

Athletics All-Star catcher Shea Langeliers reportedly suffered a torn meniscus that could end his 2026 season, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

If Langeliers opts to have surgery to repair the injury his campaign would be over.

"Regardless of his decision, the injury is almost certain to end any trade talks around Langeliers, regarded as among the best catchers in baseball. While the A's did not plan to move him, multiple teams hoped their stance would soften before the Aug. 3 deadline, sources said," per Passan.
