Errol Spence Jr. Retires After Loss to Tim Tszyu, Prize Money & Judges' Scorecards from Final Fight

Errol Spence Jr. is saying goodbye to boxing for a second time.

The former welterweight champion lost a unanimous decision to Tim Tszyu on Saturday in Sydney. The judges scored it 118-110, 117-111, 117-111 in Tszyu's favor.

Spence, who hadn't fought since his 2023 TKO loss to Terence Crawford, indicated his comeback is likely over already.

"I think yeah, for sure," he said, per ESPN's Jake Michaels. "I've got my faculties intact. My money is good at working for itself. Everything's good, man. I've got a beautiful family, and I thank God I'm gracious to leave this sport with my faculties intact and my family still by my side."

Spence is almost certainly cashing a seven-figure paycheck from this weekend. The overall purse was reportedly around $15 million, though it's unclear how the money was split among the two fighters.

The final scores paint an accurate picture as to the gap between Spence and Tszyu.

According to Compubox, Tszyu landed 33 more punches than Spence, who had a hard time connecting all fight. He attempted 715 punches altogether and was particularly inefficient with his jabs (31-of-389).

Spence's sharpness was absent, owing to his three-year layoff.

This was just the second defeat of the 36-year-old's pro career. Assuming this is the end, he'll walk away with a record of 28-2 with 22 wins by knockout.

Tszyu, meanwhile, improved his record to 28-3, and he's riding a three-fight winning streak. The Australian is the No. 1-ranked challenger in WBO's junior middleweight rankings and sits fifth in the WBC rankings.

Tszyu said after Saturday's fight he's "aiming" to have a championship opportunity.
