Juan Soto to Have Part in Upcoming Emma Stone Movie 'The Catch,' Filmed Scene at Citi Field

Even though Friday ended on a down note for Juan Soto, it started on an extreme high as the New York Mets star got to film a scene with Emma Stone for her upcoming movie The Catch.

After filming his cameo appearance, video was posted showing Stone and Soto in the Citi Field dugout.

Per Mollie Walker of the New York Post, Soto's cameo is of him exiting the dugout.

Stone was also in the stands to watch the Mets host the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soto was removed in the sixth inning as his lingering calf issues flared up again and could result in another stint on the injured list.

This was a very different vibe from one of Stone's previous appearances at Citi Field when she was cheering on the San Diego Padres when they were playing the Mets in the 2022 NL Wild Card series.

The film was officially announced in April with Stone and Chris Pine starring and Dave McCary directing.

Per IMDB, the film crew previously shot footage at Citi Field for the Mets' series against the Boston Red Sox from July 10-12.

Plot details are largely unknown right now, but Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter noted it is being described as "Bull Durham meets Notting Hill with Stone playing the most hated woman in baseball."

In addition to baseball, the Bull Durham connection also stems from Tim Robbins having a role as the father to Stone's character.

The Catch is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 21, 2027.
