'Electric' Trinidad Chambliss Is 'Russell Wilson All Over Again,' NFL Scout Says Ahead of 2027 Draft

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was compared to 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson ahead of the 2027 NFL draft.

"Russell Wilson all over again," an AFC scout told ESPN's Jordan Reid regarding Chambliss. "The dude is electric. He attacks the middle of the field and puts so much stress on defenses. Don't be surprised to see someone take him in the back end of Round 1 if he builds off of last season."

Per Reid, multiple scouts have been "enamored" with the signal-caller's "mental makeup, continued growth and dynamic playing style."

Expectations are high for Chambliss and the Rebels after they finished with a 13-2 record and advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinal round last season.

The 23-year-old completed 66.1 percent of his throws for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns compared to a mere three interceptions in 15 starts, averaging 8.8 yards per attempt. He finished No. 8 in Heisman Trophy voting.

Chambliss also routinely extended plays with his legs, rushing for 527 yards and eight scores.

If he's able to build upon his encouraging 2025 campaign and live up to the comparisons to Wilson, he could hear his name called in the first round of the 2027 draft.
