Tyson Fury Beats Mariusz Wach, Full Results, Reaction, Highlights from Heavyweight Fight

Tyson Fury ran his professional record to 36-2-1 on Friday with a victory over Mariusz Wach.

The fight ended after the seventh round, when Wach didn't get up from his stool in the corner.

ESPN's James Regan called it "one-way traffic for Fury" after Wach landed a punishing blow in the second round, and Fury "appeared to coast through the tune-up bout before getting a stoppage."

Whether it was much of a spectacle or not, the event served its purpose for Fury. After the final bell, he called out Anthony Joshua, and the signs are pointing toward a battle between the two British stars.

Joshua, for his part, is preparing for his first fight since beating Jake Paul last December. He takes on Kristian Prenga on Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Assuming he takes care of business, the hype surrounding a long-awaited encounter with Joshua and Fury will hit a fever pitch.

"I went through my test tonight. Let's see if he can get through his," Fury said after his victory, per the BBC's Kal Sajad.

Nothing is ever official in boxing until the contracts are signed. Fury and Joshua have danced around one another for years without ever facing off. Given how much they seemed to be getting the pieces into place, the time may finally have arrived.
