New Seahawks Rumors Reveal Devon Witherspoon Contract Offer Ahead of NFL Training Camp

The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly made a contract extension offer to cornerback Devon Witherspoon prior to the start of training camp.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks have offered Witherspoon a deal worth "upwards of" $30 million that would put him among the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league (0:50 mark).

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie is currently the highest-paid player at the position, earning $31 million per year (via Spotrac).

As for Witherspoon, he's currently set to receive $21.2 million for the 2026 season after the Seahawks picked up his fifth-year option before hitting free agency in 2027.

The 25-year-old has been a key piece of Seattle's secondary throughout his career and is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he earned a Pro Bowl nod as well as a Second Team All-Pro selection.

In 12 games, Witherspoon racked up 72 tackles, seven passes defended, four quarterback hits and one interception.

He remained impactful throughout the Seahawks' ensuing playoff run that ended with a Super Bowl title, recording 17 tackles and four passes defended in three postseason appearances.

As Seattle prepares to defend its championship in 2026, Witherspoon's long-term future with the team could be secured soon.
