Devonte Wyatt, Packers Agree to Massive New Contract Extension After Picking Up 5th-Year Option

The Green Bay Packers reportedly signed defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to a three-year, $57 million extension on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, which includes a $20 million signing bonus.

The deal will keep him under contract through the 2029 season (he's playing on a $12.9 million fifth-year option in the 2026 campaign).

Keeping their own young players for the long term has been a priority in Green Bay.

Wyatt, 28, has played in 57 games (15 starts) across his four-year career, registering 16 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 30 quarterback hits, three passes defensed, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

Despite suffering a broken fibula and a torn ligament in his ankle that ended his season on Thanksgiving, Wyatt still posted four sacks in 10 games last season from the interior.

The Packers have high expectations coming into the 2026 season after injuries to players like Wyatt and Micah Parsons, among others, weakened what was looking to be a potentially dominant defense.

"I think we've got everything we need," linebacker Isaiah McDuffie told Ian Rapoport and Sara Walsh on NFL Network's The Insiders last week. "At the end of the day, it's just finishing. Getting late in the season, just finishing those games when we are up on guys, just putting the nail in the coffin."
