New MLB Rumors Reveal Rare Dodgers, Rockies Trade Ahead of 2026 Deadline

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired right-handed relief pitcher Seth Halvorsen from the Colorado Rockies for a pair of minor leaguers (outfielder Landyn Vidourek and right-handed reliever Nick Frasso), per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post confirmed that Halvorsen will head to Triple-A.

It's not all that common to see division rivals trade with each other. The last time the Rockies and Dodgers, who are NL West foes, did so was 2023, when L.A. sent Justin Bruihl to Colorado for cash considerations.

The 26-year-old Halvorsen is in his third big league season. This year, he's played 21 games, posting a 4.74 ERA (1.95 WHIP) over 19.0 innings while striking out 17.

Halvorsen has been on the injured list retroactive to July 1 with right shoulder inflammation. Per MLB.com, he hit 101.6 mph while facing hitters at Coors Field lasT Thursday.

He also made a rehab assignment Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday and pitched one scoreless inning, allowing two hits.

The 27-year-old Frasso has pitched in Triple-A this season. Over 21 games, he's posted a 4.74 ERA (1.66 WHIP) with 40 strikeouts over 24.2 innings.

The 22-year-old Vidourek has played 59 games for Single-A Ontario. He has hit .170 (.643 OPS) with six home runs and 24 RBI.
