Eagles' Nick Sirianni Opens Up About ChatGPT AI, Criticism and Jalen Brunson, Knicks' NBA Title Win

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni added ChatGPT to his arsenal this season as he tries to silence his skeptics during the 2026 NFL season.

Sirianni told The Athletic's Zach Berman he embraced the chatbot in June and began by requesting to "give me a great relentless effort true sports story."

The coach was looking for new material to help motivate his players and eventually discovered amateur wrestler Anthony Robles. Robles was born with one leg, which didn't stop him from winning a national championship at Arizona State in 2011.

ChatGPT has also been helpful to Sirianni in recalling what the Eagles have themselves achieved during his tenure.

"We've created stories, things that people are looking up on ChatGP — fill me in on the letters," he said. "What keeps it more fresh than what we've done?"

Sirianni boasts a .694 winning percentage, a Super Bowl title and a separate appearance in the NFC title game during his first five years on the job. Still, that has done little to quell the sense of unease from many within the fanbase.

A slow start could put his job in serious jeopardy.

"I can't control what anybody thinks or feels … and that's OK," he told Berman. "If even a second of my time is being worried about, 'Hey, I wish they appreciated this more,' well, then I just lost a little bit of time that I could be doing something else that really matters."

The Eagles aren't far removed from lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and they have some notable holdovers from that 2024 squad. Still, Sirianni followed the NBA and NHL playoffs to be reminded of what it takes to win championships like Philly fan Jalen Brunson did with the New York Knicks.

"There's a common denominator of these good teams that they just want to play for each other, and so we've talked a lot about that, and tried to live that — and that's tricky, and that's hard, because how do you come together as a team?" he said.

"You come together as a football team through shared hardships, so you get that right through the offseason. You come together as a football team through building trust of consistently doing what you're supposed to do, consistently on a daily basis, and you come together as a football team through the time that you put in with each other. That time, sometimes it feels like it's invisible progress."

Perhaps the Eagles will deliver a season that solidifies Sirianni's position for the foreseeable future. Should they again flatter to deceive, he may have to consult ChatGPT about how to write a resume.
