Angel Reese Injured vs. Sky, Latest Updates on Dream Star Before WNBA All-Star Game

Atlanta Dream power forward Angel Reese left Sunday's game against her former team, the Chicago Sky, after suffering a left leg injury.

Reese was going up for a layup in the third quarter when her knee appeared to buckle on a jump stop. She left the game and didn't return.

With the Dream out of action until after the WNBA's All-Star break, Reese posted on social media that she was ready for some time off:

Reese played 20 minutes in the 93-91 win, posting eight points, five rebounds, a block, a steal and an assist. It ended her five-game double-double streak. In total, she has 17 double-doubles on the season.

Across 24 total games she's averaging 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game, shooting 43.4 percent from the field but just 12.5 percent from three.

Still, her offseason acquisition has proven to be a fantastic move for Atlanta, which moved to 16-10 on the season following Sunday's win and currently sits fifth in the WNBA standings. A core group of Reese, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada has jelled nicely.

Reese spent her first two seasons with the Sky but seemed frustrated by the team's inability to assemble a contender, as the team was just 23-61 during the 2024-25 seasons.

"I'm not settling for the same s--t we did this year," Reese told Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune in Sept. 2025. "We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That's a non-negotiable for me. I'm willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that's what I'm going to do this offseason. So it's going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can't settle for what we have this year."

Instead, the Sky traded her to the Dream in April for a pair of first-round pick and 2028 second-round pick-swap rights.

As for the All-Star Game, Reese was among the selections, though it's now unclear if she'll be able to participate.
