Junior Caminero Injured on Hit by Pitch During MLB All-Star Game, Latest Updates on Rays Star
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero suffered an injury while competing in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night.
The injury occurred when Caminero was hit by a pitch in the third inning of the game, as he exited the contest immediately afterwards.
Caminero is considered day-to-day moving forward after X-rays were negative, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
The 23-year-old is in the midst of a strong 2026 season, as he earned his second consecutive All-Star nod.
Heย ranksย No. 4 among all MLB players with 28 home runs while also racking up 14 doubles, 53 walks and 59 RBI. Caminero owns a .279/.372/.555 slash line as well.
He's been extremely productive as of late, recording 13 homers and compiling a 1.184 OPS over his past 20 games.
Health issues haven't been a problem for Caminero throughout his budding career, as he's appeared in each of Tampa Bay's first 94 regular-season games this year. He also suited up in 154 contests during his 2025 campaign.
The Rays will hope that Caminero is able to recover quickly, as they're expected to battle for postseason positioning throughout the second half of the year.
Tampa Bay currently sits atop the American League East standings with a 56-38 record, but it only leads the New York Yankees by three games.
