
LaMelo Ball Hypes Olivia Miles After Trade to Wolves amid Star's Breakout WNBA Rookie Season
Newly minted Minnesota Timberwolves star LaMelo Ball knows he isn't the only dynamic playmaker in Minneapolis at the moment.
A reporter brought up Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles during Ball's introductory press conference and asked if he was familiar with her game.
"Of course, she cold," he said.

Miles was regarded by many as the best college player in the 2026 WNBA draft class, but not even her loudest supporters could've envisioned her having the impact she has out of the gate.
The 5'10" guard is averaging 19.4 points on 50.5 percent shooting along with 4.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists. In Monday's 104-100 win over the Phoenix Mercury, she became the first WNBA player to record 400 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists in her first 22 games.
Beyond the raw numbers, Miles has assumed a big leadership role with Napheesa Collier yet to make her season debut. The five-time All-Star is still in the midst of her recovery from offseason ankle surgery.
"[Miles] is doing this and shouldering so much โ basically the entire team," coach Cheryl Reeve told reporters Monday night. "The success of the team is on her shoulders and that is impressive how she's handled it."
Point guard has long been a sore spot for the Timberwolves, which necessitated the blockbuster trade for Ball. Thankfully for the Lynx, that shouldn't be an issue for a long time.
