Scottie Scheffler Talks Chasing Golf History With 'Morbid' Quote Ahead of 2026 British Open

Despite being the top-ranked men's golfer in the world and attempting to become the first player in 20 years to win The Open Championship in back-to-back years, Scottie Scheffler doesn't obsess over his place in PGA Tour history.

Speaking to reporters from Royal Birkdale on Tuesday, Scheffler explained in a "morbid" way that he doesn't play for history because ultimately "I'm going to live my life and when it ends I'm going somewhere else and I'm not going to be here anymore."
