Every Snub from Top 10 in New NFL LB Rankings by Coaches, Execs
The Dallas Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown lost his spot in the top 10 of the annual positional rankings from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Overshown was eighth on Fowler's list in 2025 but slipped into the honorable mention category after injuries limited him to six games. He was one of four linebackers in that category:
- Quay Walker, Las Vegas Raiders
- DeMarvion Overshown, Dallas Cowboys
- Patrick Queen, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Demario Davis, New York Jets

When it comes to Overshown, one NFC scout said he "moves like a safety."
"Incredibly talented," they told Fowler. "I want to see how he does this year after the injuries."
The Cowboys had one of the NFL's worst defenses, ranking 30th in yards allowed and last in points. To improve the unit, they acquired Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers and selected Caleb Downs in the NFL draft.
A healthy Overshown will undoubtedly be a big help for Dallas as well.
Quay Walker is looking to kick-start his career after failing to live up to his status as a first-round pick in four seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
One NFC coach at least saw some progress.
"The light finally came on for him last year," they said. "I thought he diagnosed the run game better than in the past. He has always been fast, long and can hit."
Walker finished with 128 tackles, 2.5 sacks and five pass breakups last year. The Las Vegas Raiders will look for him to replicate that and then some after handing him a $40.5 million contract.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' Patrick Queen is entering a big season as he'll be a free agent in 2027.
Queen passed the century mark in tackles for the fifth time in 2025 (120) but didn't make his usual impact. He was unable to extend his streak of back-to-back Pro Bowls, and one AFC personnel executive thought his performance was a little to up and down.
"He is very good when he turns it on and uses his speed and strength," they told Fowler. "His play is too inconsistent for my taste."
Given he'll be 28 when the 2027 season kicks off, Queen may struggle to break the $20 million threshold on his next contract. Four linebackers reside in that group. He should at least earn a nice pay raise if he can return to form.
