Shohei Ohtani's Cleats Expected to Sell for Record Price at Auction from Dodgers' 2025 Tokyo Series

Andrew PetersJul 13, 2026

A pair of Shohei Ohtani's cleats is expected to draw a record price at auction this week.

Per USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the cleats Ohtani wore for the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2025 season opener at the Tokyo Dome will hit the auction block on Monday.

The cleats are signed in his rare Japanese Kanji signature and feature images of his dog, Decoy. Nightengale noted that the cleats are "expected to generate perhaps more money than any shoes ever worn by a baseball player."

"I think this is the most significant baseball footwear to ever hit the market," said Scott Keeney, The Realest founder and CEO, per Nightengale. "Not much Ohtani memorabilia, especially cleats, have ever hit the open market. We think that these are so significant because it was his debut major league baseball game in Japan, sandwiched between his two World Series victories.

"It was a homecoming for arguably the most famous person in not only in baseball, but in an entire country."

Ohtani is one of the greatest baseball players ever, and that means any memorabilia of his is going to generate plenty of interest on the open market.
