MLB Home Run Derby Prize Money Revealed for Winner, Full Field Ahead of 2026 Event
This year's Home Run Derby has the chance to be quite lucrative for the winner.
Major League Baseball has put some serious cash on the line at this year's event at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park on Monday night.
Per Eric Fisher of Front Office Sports, "That $1 million top prize is more than the entire 2026 MLB salary for half of the Home Run Derby field: the Kansas City Royals' Jac Caglianone ($784,000), the Tampa Bay Rays' Junior Caminero ($794,800), the St. Louis Cardinals' Jordan Walker ($799,400) and the New York Yankees' Ben Rice ($845,800). These younger MLB players are not yet eligible for salary arbitration or free agency."
Those four will be joined by the Philadelphia Phillies' duo of Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber, Munetaka Murakami of the Chicago White Sox and Willson Contreras of the Boston Red Sox, none of whom are particularly hard up for cash after signing lucrative contracts.
But their younger counterparts will have plenty of incentive to win.
