Marlins Dog From Viral Video Gets 'Dream Day,' Celebrated During 1st Pitch
The dog who went viral during a Miami Marlins game last month got his "Dream Day" on Sunday.
The dog, Jonah, was seen on the Marlins' broadcast watching another dog enjoying a hot dog with its owners. The team took matters into their own hands to celebrate him during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians.
Jonah got to go out with his owners for the first pitch and got some treats from Marlins' broadcaster Jeremy Tache. Unfortunately, Jonah's "sensitive tummy" prevented him from having an actual hot dog.
Along with celebrating Jonah, ticket proceeds from Sunday's game went to Miami Animal Rescue, a local foster service to help abandoned pets find homes across South Florida.
The Marlins will host three more "Bark at the Park" games this season on July 27, Aug. 24 and Sept. 7, giving even more dogs the chance to have their 15 minutes of fame.
