Stefon Diggs Calls Out Every NFL WR2 in Latest Video amid NFL Free Agency

Adam WellsJul 11, 2026

As Stefon Diggs continues to search for a new team in free agency, the four-time Pro Bowler is letting all 32 NFL clubs know he is better than most receivers in the league right now.

In a video on his YouTube channel focused on him training to remain in peak condition (starts at 9:49 mark), Diggs emphatically declared he is better than the No. 2 receiver on any roster at this moment.

"My opinion, I can compete with anybody. But take those as your ones (WR1), right? You can't name a number two better than me. There's not a number two on a team. Let's presumably give people the credit and just say, 'Okay, you want to take the number one spot away?' Name your number two receiver right now, and tell me how much he makes, and then my last question is: Is he better than me?"

Diggs does mention there are seven wide receivers he would definitively rank as true No. 1 targets, though he didn't specifically name them.

By that rationale, though, Diggs believes he is no worse than the eighth-best receiver in the NFL. He is coming off a strong 2025 season with the New England Patriots, putting up 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games.

Considering Diggs played most of the season at the age of 32 and was coming off a torn ACL suffered in October 2024, it was an impressive rebound year.

Despite the success Diggs had last season, the Patriots released him in March when he was set to count $26.5 million against their cap.

New England is replacing Diggs as its No. 1 receiver with A.J. Brown, who was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Patriots also signed Romeo Doubs in free agency.

Even if Diggs isn't quite at the level he views himself, it is a bit odd that he remains unsigned at this point. There are many teams that could use another reliable pass-catcher.

It could also be a situation where Diggs is waiting until after training camps begin to see if a need opens up for a team to increase his negotiating leverage.

Whatever the case may be, it would be a surprise if Diggs isn't on an NFL roster when the regular season begins in September.
